nail art: color block nails & a giveaway!

Color blocking is big in the fashion world this year, and I wanted to bring the bright, saturated fun to my nails. This look is easy to achieve, so grab your Scotch Tape and let’s get started.

I began by painting my nails with RGB Dew, a pale pastel green. After applying a top coat and letting the polish dry completely (it’s best to wait a couple hours), I cut two thin pieces of Scotch Tape. I placed one vertically and one horizontally across my nail, creating four squares.

Don't worry if it looks a little messy right now - it's easy to clean this up with a makeup brush dipped in remover later on.

I’ve added a lot of brights to my collection this season, so I grabbed Notting Hill GatePortobello, and Westbourne Grove from Nails, Inc., along with Mattese Elite Almost Famous. I filled in each of the four squares with a different shade of polish and then carefully removed the tape strips to reveal the finished design.

I cleaned up any stray polish on my skin with a little remover on a makeup brush, and then added a shiny top coat to finish off this modern, on-trend look.

And now…what better day than a Friday for a GIVEAWAY? I love Nails Inc. polish, and one of you will win the Neon & Nude Collection, which includes 6 minis in Notting Hill GatePortobelloWestbourne GroveJermyn StreetPorchester Square, and Cadogan Square. I used three of these colors in today’s design.

To enter, please leave a comment below telling me what you’re looking forward to in nails or fashion this spring/summer, or a post idea you’d like to see here on the blog.

I’ll choose a random winner on Wednesday, May 2nd. Good luck!
